Sizes are determined by matching paw lengths to Clawg lengths, which places Clawgs’ front edge between dogs’ front (middle) toes’ front pads' ground contacting area but does not contact front (middle) claws while paws are fully bent to their standing position with front toes spread as far forward as possible.

Paw width and height is not a factor in sizing because each Clawg size is adjustable to fit the tallest, shortest, narrowest, and widest paws (with Clawgs' adjustable straps).

If you do not have flexible measuring tape, please use dental floss (or string) to measure, then pinch and hold it against a rigid measuring tape (or ruler). Weare measuring a curved surface.

Measure from against upper paws (or ‘legs’ – not pads) behind heel pads’ (metacarpal / metatarsal pads) furthest back point, which is off-center  behind one of the two bumps at the pads’ ends.

Measure to front claw tips, not to front toes’ pad’s front edges or to where claws emerge from front toes’ tops.

Fully bend paws to their “standing position” (even if they’re lying on their sides) with front toes spread forward as far as possible. There should be a gap between heel pads and toe pads.

Select the Clawgs Sizes that the dog’s front and/or back paw lengths are within the length ranges in the following Clawgs Sizing Chart:

Most front paws are one size larger than back paws. Sometimes, front paws are two sizes larger than back paws. Sometimes front paws are the same size as back paws. Three or more size differences between front paw sizes and backs paw sizes is too much.

If you cannot decide between two sizes, select the larger size.

When measuring with the printable sizing strips, please select the longest sizing strip that does not contact claw tips but does fully cover the front toes’ paw pads while following the above measurement instructions.

The printer’s scaling settings must be set to print at 100%. Some web browsers scale the sizing strips down to fit in larger paper margins, which results in sizing strips that are the incorrect lengths.
