For 30,000 years, the paw has followed its person.
We domesticated dogs, brought them into 'our' world, and take them everywhere while we wear shoes.
Although people tried to give dogs the same comfort and protection we've given ourselves,
dogs' paws
are different than
people's feet.
People have nails.
Dogs have claws,
which protrude significantly
from toe fronts.
Dogs feel with their claws, which are strong and literally sensitive with nerves and blood flowing through them, unlike nails.
Claws are assets for
extra grip and oomph.
Clawgs' patented design enhances dogs abilities without taking away their natural abilities.
Unlike dog boots, Clawgs let claws through openings and hold dogs’ toes’ fronts.
Clawgs' Benefits:
Dogs benefit from Clawgs in the same ways we benefit from shoes.
Paws are tougher than human feet, but they are not indestructible. Dogs feel pain when stabbed, scuffed, burnt, etc.
Like us, dogs can survive without footwear. With Clawgs, dogs can comfortably thrive while traveling long distances on tough surfaces.
- Protects paw pads from abrasive surfaces, such as pavement, which wears down paw pads.
- Prevents sharp objects from stabbing paw pads, such as glass, burrs, foxtails, sharp ice, etc.
- Avoid contacting irritating substances such as salted roads and chemicals.
- Improves paws' grip on slick surfaces.
- Insulates paws from the hottest surfaces on earth.
- Insulates paws from cold surfaces.
- Prevents snowballs from forming between toes.
- Provides a barrier for sensitive paws or dogs with allergies.
- Lifts paws slightly higher to reduce claws' impact with the ground.
- Comfort and cushion under injured paws promotes faster healing.
- Boosts old and/or geriatric dogs' confidence and ability to stand/walk/run on slick surfaces.
- Gently holds front toes together, which improves dogs' strength and stability, including allowing broken toes to heal, like how we tie broken fingers together.
Flexible Sole Lets Toes Move
Dogs walk and run naturally in seconds!
Dogs like to get a feel for the ground. Clawgs sole is thick enough to insulate paws from the hottest weather, but thin, soft, and flexible enough to bend and stretch to conform to the surfaces dogs walk on.
Most dog boots have thick, stiff soles, which prohibits dogs’ toes from getting a feel for the ground, restricts toe movement, and makes dogs walk funny or refuse to walk.
Puncture and Tear Resistant Sole Grips
Clawgs' fabric bonded rubber make a strong team with great traction.
The rubber keeps the fabric from fraying significantly and the fabric keeps the rubber stitched closely together, which makes Clawgs difficult to puncture or tear.
Boost Dogs' Confidence On Slick Surfaces
Basic Booties' Problem
Because claws curve downward, dog boot fronts press the top of claw tips downward, which is the opposite direction claws press earth.
Boots never touch toe fronts. They extend far beyond toe fronts and even past claws, making them long and wonky, like clown shoes.
Paws are different than people's feet. Pawwear should look different than people's shoes.
Open Wide!
Clawgs V3 opens completely up with a custom buckle and four Velcro toe straps, which makes it easy to wrap paws in Clawgs.
Dog boots require people to shove paws into small openings without snagging claws.
Dew Claw Friendly
Clawgs are the only shoe that fastens below dew claws, which Clawgs V3 can do without even lifting a paw!
Dog boots attach on or above dew claws, which squeezes dew claws against paws, which appears painful.
Wrap the Paws
&
Free the Claws
Aside from lifting paws briefly while pulling the sole under paws, dogs do not need to balance on fewer paws while their sapiens are putting on their Clawgs V3s.
Simple Buckles
It's easy for people to unfasten buckles by simultaneously pressing both buckles' finger tabs, but challenging for dogs. They only have one snoot.
Cushioned Comfort Under Buckles
Clawgs' buckles are cushioned underneath by straps that are held close together, so buckles won't press paws.
Easily Tighten Heel Straps
By simultaneously pulling both heel straps through buckles, people can easily fully tighten them to stay on paws.
Stay On Paws
After tightening the heel straps around paws for the first time, remove Clawgs from paws and secure heel straps into buckles' cinch slots to ensure Clawgs stay on paws.
Dog boots require people to properly tighten straps every time they're put on. With Clawgs, people only need to properly tighten and secure the heel straps once.
Storage Pouch Included
When Clawgs aren't on paws, store them in the included drawstring bag so they're always handy when needed.
Fully Customizable Fit
There's tons of variation in paws' shapes and sizes.
The only way for a shoe to properly fit all paws is to make them adjustable everywhere!
Each Clawg has eight adjustment points to properly fit tall, short, wide, and narrow paws.
Dog boots only have one adjustment point, so they may be too wide or narrow or loose or tight or long or short.
Stretches For Toe Spread
Clawgs are made out of elastic rubber bonded to elastic fabric, which gently hugs toes but stretches to allow toe spread.
Dog boots hold side toes tight with inelastic materials, which prohibits all toes from spreading. When side toes are held together, front (middle) toes can't spread either.
Clawgs' front claws' opening stretches for toe spread too
Gently holding front toes together is a good thing.
The President Elect of the American Association of Rehabilitation Veterinarians loves that Clawgs gently hold front toes together because it improves dogs’ stability and toes’ strength. Think about how we heal weak or broken fingers - we wrap two fingers together.
Unrestricted Paw Movement
Clawgs’ heel straps rest near dogs’ paws’ pivot line, which is the ideal location to maximize paws' range of motion.
Many dog boots resist or prohibit paws from straightening when dogs lay or bending when dogs stand.
Let Paws Straighten While Laying
Stiff soled boots that attach further up paws typically lock paws in their standing position, even when they're laying. If boot fronts are pointing up when dogs are laying, imagine what dogs' toes are doing.
Clawgs Stay Centered On Paws
Clawgs' heels attach just above dogs' heel pads (metacarpal / metatarsal pads) with pockets for the two bumps on the back of heel pads. This allows people to properly set dogs’ heels into Clawgs' heels, which is the best way to center pawwear.
Soft soled boots that attach further up paws are unable to properly set dogs' heels into boots' heels, so they spin off center easily and paws slide around inside boots.
Clawgs are endorsed by the American Association of Rehabilitation Veterinarians' president elect.
12 Sizes - Most Inclusive Pawwear
Clawgs' front edge must hit a small window to fully protect toe pads but not touch front claws.
Sizes 1-4 are only available in Clawgs V2.
Try Clawgs risk free for 30 days.
If you or your dog aren't satisfied or need different sizes, return Clawgs with a free (in US) return label generated in dog Sap Returns Center.
Easy Buckle Replacement
Bites happen, but we don't want good Clawgs to go to waste because a good dog made a mistake.
Free Stitch Repair For Two Years
Just pay shipping. We want your Clawgs to last a dogs' lifetime. Clawgs' straps' edge stitches prevent stretching in areas where we don't want Clawgs to stretch, such as the heel straps.
If a stitch breaks (whether dog destroyed or not), please send them back so we can fix them. After two years, we'll repair stitches for $5 per Clawg plus shipping.
